Biofeedback AssessmentBiofeedback Assessment
‘Imagine if you could go to the doctor, sit for an hour in a comfortable chair where you are hooked up to some highly sophisticated electronic equipment, and then receive a detailed assessment of your health status. Sounds far fetched? Perhaps, but thousands of ‘Electro-Physiological Biofeedback’ practitioners are already providing such a service. Not only can these practitioners provide in-depth health assessments, but they can also address many problems with the use of Biofeedback Therapy that administers gentle electro-magnetic impulses to stimulate the body to self-regulate and correct its own problems’. It is medically accepted that stress in its many forms is a major factor in illness and disease and working to identify and then reduce these various stresses and stressors can have major benefits for health and wellbeing. Biofeedback assessments are a way of testing the body's stress responses to various substances in order to provide clues about the body's health and balance.
What happens at an Assessment? During an assessment you will be linked to the sophisticated computer based biofeedback system via soft electrodes that wrap around the ankles and wrists and also a head band that holds 8 sensors against the forehead. Through these sensors the system is able to read various electrical signals from the body. These include EEG brainwave patterns, ECG heart signals and EMG muscle electrical activity.
All assessments have 3 parts
The Electrical Status Various electrical patterns reflect different body processes.
Overview of Current Stressors Organ Profile
In this organ profile the Pancreas and Lungs are spiking at the top of the graph along with emotions stressing the immune system. At the bottom of the graph the Gallbladder is the lowest. These top and bottom items are the ones that are the most stressed and need support.
Stress Profile
In this Stress Profile there is a huge spike for oxidation and inflammation. The lowest areas are sensory, neurological and trauma. These provide clues as to areas that may need to be addressed in order to assist the body in maintaining health and balance.
The Organ Profile & Stress Profile is generated by the computer software from analysis of the body's stress responses to 10,000 medical substances. These substances include; toxins, pathogens, foods, hormones, allergens, nutrients and many others factors. The type of scan used in this analysis provides information about where the body is using most of its energy in order to maintain balance/equilibrium.
Deeper Testing This testing allows us to identify deeper issues, that are more likely to be underlying health issues. This technique involves testing individual substances to determine if it is causing a stress response. It will often reveal issues that are hidden or masked. It is only possible to test around 30 substances in an assessment, and it is usual to agree a list of test items prior to the assessment. It is common for people want to test certain foods, candida, toxins, organ and hormones.
What happens after the assessment The purpose of the assessment is to identify what is stressing your body. The 2 questions that people usually have when they get their results are WHY did certain things show up in the testing and what can they do to resolve any stress areas that have shown up. The Biofeedback Process cannot indicate why something came up in the testing. As a Biofeedback Therapist I am able to offer Biofeedback Therapy to help address any stresses that have been indicated. Alternatively, you could seek out other holistic practitioners such as Homeopaths, Herbalists, Nutritional therapists and Acupucturists who may have the knowlege and skills to help you make appropriate lifestyle changes, changes in diet, cleansing and other techniques to help address your issues.
Disclaimer If you think that you have an illness or disease it is always recommended that you consult a qualified medical practitioner. Biofeedback assessments do not diagnose diseases and are not intended to replace medical testing or treatment. |
